422 Lab is an independent lab where practical tools, small games and new experiments are built and shared in the open. Some things are polished and ready for everyday use; others are experiments we're still testing.
Right now you can compress images, upscale them with AI, send files and text between devices through temporary encrypted connections, or take on the Perfect Circle Test and see how you rank on the live global leaderboard. Everything works without an account.
We add and improve things continuously. Processing and privacy behavior varies by feature, so each page explains how it handles your data.

Is 422 Lab free?
Yes. Everything on the site is currently free to use. Some features may offer optional paid plans in the future.
Do I need an account?
Not to use the tools or play. A free, optional account lets you join game leaderboards and keep your scores across devices.
Are my files stored?
Processing and storage methods vary by tool. We minimize unnecessary data handling and explain how each tool processes your files in its privacy notice and our Privacy Policy.
Which browsers are supported?
The tools are designed for current Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari releases. Some capabilities, such as WebGPU or direct-to-disk saving, may fall back to a slower or more limited browser path.
How large a file can I transfer?
Secure Transfer currently limits a single file to 1 GB.
